Ferries Community Board Consultation
There is an opportunity to engage with the Ferries Community Board March Thursday, March 7th, between 1730 and 1900 at the Glenburn Hotel.
Notice has also been given in the Isle of Bute News.
Ferries Community Board members including chair Angus Campbell will be available to meet any interested parties in the Glenburn Hotel between 5.30 and 7 pm on Thursday 7th March. The Board members are currently heavily involved with discussions with CalMac and Transport Scotland over the shape of the new Clyde and Hebrides Ferries contract and how the communities can be more involved in influencing the services in the future . It would be good for our community to take the opportunity to discuss their thoughts with members of the board.
If anyone is unable to make the Glenburn, there will be some of the members around the island on Thursday afternoon and we may be able to arrange a meeting. Please contact me at davidherriot5@gmail.com.

Survey on the Scottish Rainforest and conservation
Bute Community Council has been asked to share the following survey.
My name is Douglas and I’m completing a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management. As part of my honours project, I’m investigating how our understanding and perception of the Scottish rainforest impacts the conservation of this special habitat. As such I’m reaching out to people from every region of Scotland and asking them to complete a survey which should take between 10-20 minutes linked below. The survey is completely anonymous, and I’d greatly appreciate if you took the time to contribute to my research.

ScotGov Clyde & Hebrides Ferry Services contract (CHFS3) consultation
Scottish Government is consulting the Clyde & Hebrides Ferry Services contract (CHFS3).
This consultation closes on Friday 8 March 2024.
The Clyde & Hebrides Ferry Services play a crucial role in our transport system, providing vital links for residents, businesses, and tourists across the west coast of Scotland.
We are currently developing the new Clyde & Hebrides Ferry Services contract (CHFS3) and would welcome the views of communities and service users on their expectations for the service.
To date our focus for the new CHFS3 contract has been to review and reflect on the existing feedback from our ferry-dependent communities, key stakeholders and reports conducted throughout the current Clyde & Hebrides Ferry Services contract (CHFS2), including the recent report by the Scottish Parliament’s Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee A Modern and Sustainable Ferry Service for Scotland.
The feedback provided by these sources and further focused discussions with key stakeholders has aided the development of the consultation themes and questions.
